WILLIAMSPORT, PA February 27, 2003 Brodart Co.'s Automation Division, a leading provider of library technology serving schools and libraries worldwide, announces the release of Amlib 3.12. Version 3.12 includes a number of new features, some of which include batch importing of patron pictures, merging of patron records (both circulation and financial) and enhanced invoicing features. Along with this, newly incorporated loan periods (term, semester, and year) were added to assist school libraries. Libraries will also experience improved searching performance while cataloging and within their online public access catalog, due to the development of an enhanced keyword table.
Ms. Sally Wilmoth, Director of Marketing and Sales for Brodart's Automation division states, Amlib delivers a number of benefits for today's libraries to streamline their workflow, thus allowing librarians to manage their libraries more efficiently. During times when budgets and staff are being cut, libraries are under pressure to perform more with less. With this said, it is important to automate as many tasks as possible. They have entrusted us with this mission; therefore our development focuses on finding ways to reduce workload and increase services to patrons.
Amlib is a comprehensive Windows-based library management system that offers many flexible and convenient features, allowing librarians and media specialists to maximize time and increase efficiency. Features include cross-reference navigation between modules, "Main Menu" availability within each module and the incorporation of multimedia (electronic imaging and sounds) into the system. Amlib also supports extensive information search facilities, fuzzy match search logic and comprehensive statistical analysis. Supports SQL Base, SQL Server 2000, and Oracle 8i.
