“During the past 4 years, Carl Grant and the staff of Ex Libris (USA) succeeded in making the Ex Libris name and products known throughout North America,” said Azriel Morag, Chairman. “Ex Libris' leadership in new technologies, together with Carl and the team of Ex Libris (USA) established Ex Libris as a market leader in University libraries. During Carl's tenure ALEPH, our flagship product, grew to meet the needs of American Research Libraries and consortia sites across the country, and became the system of choice in both. We also introduced the MetaLib/SFX product line and established the Information Services Division to develop, support, market, implement and manage our linking and portal products. This division and its products are the undisputed market leader in their market place. Although we will miss Carl Grant, Ex Libris will continue, as it has in the past, to place a very high emphasis on the needs of the North American market place and its customer base. We are actively looking for the next president of Ex Libris (USA) and given the importance of the North American market to our business, we wish to make a careful choice. We wish Carl continued success.”
“It is with great sadness that I leave behind the customers and staff of Ex Libris (USA),” said Carl Grant, “this is a company with excellent products and people and together we've accomplished a great deal. I'm very proud of that.”
The company announced that Oren Beit-Arie, currently the Managing Director of the Information Services Division, has been named the acting President of Ex Libris (USA), effective March 31st.
