POMONA, CA, November 14, 2002 — Auto-Graphics, Inc. announces the signing of an agreement with Amigos Library Services to distribute Auto-Graphics’ AGent to The Library of California’s network of libraries. AGent is a single search portal software system and is available as a perpetual license with support, or, as a full service site hosted by Auto-Graphics (ASP annual fee).
Auto-Graphics’ AGent allows users to simultaneously search multiple databases. The System manages patron authentication for multiple databases; insures copyright compliance against subscription databases; and can be customized at the local library level. The flexible design of AGent allows scaling from a single site to a multi-branch urban institution, or even statewide consortia.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for Auto-Graphics, a California based company, to work with Amigos as a consultant to The Library of California and its network of libraries,” commented Albert Flores, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Auto-Graphics.
The Library of California is a statewide program, established in 1999, to provide equitable access to library materials and information resources for all Californians. The program is administered by the California State Library, under the policy direction of the Library of California Board. Seven regional library networks, including Amigos, provide the regional services specified in the Library of California Act. "AGent gives Library of California members a means of enabling easy cross-database searching to their constituents, and provides library database managers maximum flexibility in designing a service to meet local needs, all at a reasonable price" said Jeff Downing, Amigos' A-Plus Services Manager.
