Management buy-out of Mandarin Library Automation from EGEG Holdings.

Leo Lazo, President of Mandarin Library Automation, Inc., has announced that as of July 1, 2007, he and two other major management team members, Christine DiVito, Comptroller and Art Graham, Vice President of Technical Services, have acquired 50 percent of Mandarin's stock.

Mandarin Library Automation releases of Mandarin Oasis

ProQuest acquires SIRS Publishing from EGEG Holdings Corp.

ProQuest Information and Learning has acquired SIRS Publishing, Inc, the publisher of SIRS Researcher, SIRS Discoverer, SIRS Enduring Issues and other databases. Mandarin Library Automation remains under the ownership of EGEG Holdings Corp., directed by Elliot Goldstein and Eleanor Goldstein.

SIRS reorganizes creating Mandarin Library Automation, Inc. as separate division

SIRS Mandarin, Inc. has recently reorganized into two separate corporations. The library automation division is now Mandarin Library Automation, Inc.; the electronic and print databases division is now SIRS Publishing, Inc. Both corporations are under a common corporate umbrella.

Mandarin M3 introduced

SIRS has begun shipping a new version of its Mandarin automated library system-Mandarin M3 is a client/server product which is full-MARC, Z39.50 version 3, and Year 2000 compliant. The system also supports URL field 856, allowing patrons to search sites on the Web.

Mandarin Library Automation ILS acquired by SIRS from Melchior Management Systems

SIRS acquired the Mandarin Library Automation System from Melchior Management Systems of Montréal, Canada. First introduced in 1986, Mandarin was one of the earliest PC-based integrated, networked library automation software programs that offered cataloging, circulation, MARC record storage and many configurable options.
