SydneyPLUS Inmagic division acquires Presto product

SydneyPLUS announced that its Inmagic division has reacquired Presto, bringing it back into Inmagic's portfolio of library and KM solutions. Presto is a social knowledge management platform integrating knowledge-based content to create an Enterprise 2.0 environment that supports your organization's research and business objectives. Inmagic also acquired the applications built using the Presto platform: Presto Social Library, Presto KnowledgeNet, Presto AssociatioNet, and Presto IdeaNet.

SydneyPLUS acquires Inmagic's special library business

SydneyPLUS and Inmagic, Inc. announced the acquisition of Inmagic’s special library business by SydneyPLUS. The Inmagic special library business includes Inmagic’s DB/Text Library Suite of products: DB/TextWorks, DB/Text WebPublisher Pro, and Inmagic Genie. Additionally, the companies are announcing a strategic partnership to co-market and support Inmagic’s Presto for Social Libraries.

Inmagic announced the release of Inmagic Genie - a Web-based solution designed to meet the needs of the expanding corporate information center. Inmagic founded by Elizabeth Bole Eddison and Karen Brothers

Inmagic was founded as a new company in 1983 by Elizabeth Bole Eddison and Karen Brothers to develop, market, and support software for special libraries. The company was spun off of Warner-Eddison Associates, a consulting firm that originally developed the software. Headed by Alice Sizer Warner, this company was involved in a wide variety of activities, including the development of a database product called Inmagic in the late 1970’s that ran on mid-range minicomputers.
