Vancouver, Canada -- September 25, 2007. SydneyPLUS International, a leader in information management solutions, is pleased to announce the addition of RSS publishing through their Information Manager client.
Information Manager is a web-based interface that centralizes all electronic resources in a simple, accessible format to users. Keeping in line with SydneyPLUS's mandate to make information delivery as flexible as possible, "the ability to publish RSS feeds is a step forward in how users can interact with their information" says Curtis Wensley, Research and Development Manager at SydneyPLUS.
Whether a user is working on Information Manager or browsing the Internet, RSS feeds allow a dynamic approach to delivering information. With the RSS tool users can respond to real-time changes. These feeds can be used to display:
- New arrivals entered into the catalog.
- Requests for materials booking.
- User due dates of materials.
- Public releases from the library or company.
Although these RSS feeds can be displayed throughout the IM portal, each user can display published feeds directly to their own desktop. Without having to log into IM users can receive information updates from their library.
For clients that wish to take advantage of this capability, the RSS publishing tool will be available in the next release of SydneyPLUS.
