(Carlsbad, CA – September 22, 2004) EOS International announces the global law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley and McCloy LLP, an EOS International client since 1993, has elected to upgrade it's library automation to Web-based EOS.Web Enterprise, while continuing to use the ASP-hosted EOS e-Library Service, which allows the firm's library to focus on further integrating library automation practices and procedures into the scope of the Milbank Research Portal functions and services. Milbank previously had been using EOS Q-Series for their library automation needs.
"The Milbank Research Portal transforms a lawyer's PC into a customized information resource that automates many research processes, minimizing the user's efforts while maximizing the user's content management options. EOS.Web Enterprise allows the Milbank Research Portal to improve our collection workflow management and our service delivery," states Alirio Gomez, Milbank Library Director. "EOS e-Library Service has greatly helped us to evolve our library from a "nine-to-five" resource into one that's available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, regardless of the user's location."
Milbank joins a growing list of legal firms which have selected EOS.Web to satisfy their Web-based research needs, including Morrison and Foerster LLP; Dinsmore and Shohl LLP; Schiff Hardin LLP; Williams Mullen LLP; Shook, Hardy and Bacon LLP; Paul, Hastings, Janofsky and Walker LLP; and Wiley Rein and Fielding LLP. The public portion of the Milbank Research Portal can be accessed at: www.milbank.com/library.
"Milbank was a driving force behind the creation of the EOS e-Library Service back in 2003," states Tony Saadat, EOS International CEO. "We became intimately aware of the types of challenges the forward-thinking Milbank Library was facing, and the end result was that we became the first library automation vendor to reduce the burden on the legal firm's in-house IT professionals, setting the law firm free to concentrate on their core business, while we handle the technologies which operate a first-class library."
