The University of Westminster is the latest UK higher education institution to take up both Talis Aspire Reading Lists and Talis Aspire Digitised Content. The University is undergoing a programme of transformational change to the planning and delivery of its learning and teaching environment. The Library and IT services identified a focus on resource lists as complementary to this activity. Suzanne Enright, Director of Information Services at the university said," We are delighted to be introducing both modules of Talis Aspire at this time. We see this as a means to enliven our resource lists so that they are always current and thereby enhance the student experience of learning resources as well as improving support for our academic staff".

The Talis mission is to apply software and data to help transform education. The Talis Aspire Reading List module enables academics and librarians to find, bookmark, manage, publish and track usage of recommended learning resources for students. The Talis Aspire Digitised Content module enables digitised and copyright cleared content, including items referenced on reading lists, to be uploaded and managed, whilst ensuring authenticated access to students.
The data in the Talis Platform consists of over 200,000 reading lists containing over 3.7 million references to teaching and learning resources including textbooks, ebooks, journal articles, documents, videos and web pages. These are resources recommended by academics from over 60 universities, and used by over 1 million students at campuses around the world. The data and the connections between users, subjects, courses, and resources represent an Education Graph. This graph is used to power a series of collective intelligence based features that use the knowledge of the whole system to help improve teaching and learning.
