INWOOD, W.Va. (May 20, 2014) - The Library Corporation's LS2 PAC, LS2 Kids, and LS2 Mobile now give libraries the ability to offer full catalog integration of eResources from OverDrive and Baker & Taylor's Axis 360, allowing readers of any age to download eBooks and other digital items directly to their iPads, smartphones, or other devices without leaving the familiar environs of their library's catalog.
In 2013, TLC began the process of adding OverDrive and Axis 360 eIntegration into its LS2 PAC catalog for teens and adults. "The latest LS2 release, Version 2.8.0, continues that success by delivering seamless eIntegration to PAC, Kids, and Mobile," LS2 Product Owner Dianne Coan said. "Now it's easier than ever for every library user, regardless of age, to access digital versions of their favorite books, audio recordings, and more."
"Kids love to read, but their reading habits are not necessarily the same as their parents and grandparents," LS2 Kids Product Owner and Designer Kristin Gray said. "With their innate ability to adapt to new technologies, it makes sense that they are gravitating more and more toward eBooks and other downloadable items. Demand for eBooks is higher than ever. Libraries must be ready to meet this demand, and LS2 Version 2.8.0 puts them in a position to do just that."
LS2 Kids allows children to explore the treasures within your library with a colorful, intuitive display. LS2 PAC is a fast, powerful search tool with built-in LS2 Mobile functionality that automatically scales to accommodate display sizes ranging from smartphones to tablets to large touch-screen computer monitors. All LS2 products are included with TLC's Library.Solution or Library.Solution for Schools automation system; a subscription is required for full access to OverDrive and Axis 360 eIntegration.
