Emeryville, CA. Innovative announced that 70 libraries have committed to the LEAP responsive web interface for Polaris ILS, including 45 libraries that purchased the product since April 1, the date that Innovative and Polaris announced their integration. Boston Public Library, Baltimore County Public Library, and Phoenix Public Library are among the public libraries, school libraries, and library systems throughout the United States that will debut LEAP when it is rolled out later this year.
LEAP is a web application which can be used on a desktop, a notebook, or a tablet, freeing the user to connect with patrons and complete tasks in an intuitive workflow wherever it is most convenient. Public-facing staff can reach patrons even outside the library, with just a browser and a Wi-Fi connection, allowing them to accomplish workflows such as new patron registration without launching a heavy desktop client.
"We are standing behind our promise that Innovative will continue to actively develop, market, and support the Polaris line of products, including the Polaris ILS and LEAP," says Christopher Le Blanc, Innovative SVP of Global Sales. "LEAP's technology optimizes the Polaris functionality into a mobile environment, and complements our upcoming Sierra mobile app releases. Libraries can count on Innovative to offer best-in-class solutions as the library technology industry evolves."
