MCHENRY, Ill., Nov. 26, 2013 – Follett today announced a partnership with EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) to provide students with expanded online access to top research databases such as MasterFILE Premier and Academic Search Premier.
Libraries subscribing to any of the more than 130 EBSCO databases included in the initial release will be able to integrate the databases using Follett's One Search, a complimentary service for users of Follett's Destiny Library Manager, Follett Shelf Classroom Connections and Aspen Instructional Management System. Follett's One Search organizes more than 550 free and subscription-based research databases for schools, allowing students to quickly access the full range of library resources and online subscriptions in a single, timesaving search.
EBSCO joins popular database providers already featured in Follett's One Search, including World Book, Encyclopedia Britannica, Gale, and ProQuest. Media specialists and librarians value having access to EBSCO databases, considered the most-used, premium online information resources for tens of thousands of institutions worldwide, which represent millions of end-users.
"Having our Media Centers connected directly from One Search to EBSCO will make research skills more streamlined for our students," said Laura Healy, media specialist at Randall Carter Elementary in Wayne, N.J. "We appreciate Follett making One Search a one-stop shop for content for our students."
This is the latest in a series of partnerships Follett has forged to position itself as the leader in digital content solutions for PreK-12 schools. In the past four months, the company has partnered with Random House Publishing and Hachette Book Group to provide PreK-12 school libraries and students expanded access to popular children's and young adult books in ebook format.
