POMONA, Calif.--Auto-Graphics, Inc., a technology innovator providing library automation solutions for 40 years, today announced that the Southwest Wisconsin Library System (SWLS), a consortium consisting of 30 public library locations throughout Wisconsin, has selected AGent VERSO to replace its SirsiDynix Horizon integrated library system (ILS).
"Providing an up-to-date web presence was very important to us. We loved that AGent Iluminar could provide our libraries with a presence that was both intuitive for our patrons and also offered a high-level of customization options at the individual library level"
"Providing an up-to-date web presence was very important to us. We loved that AGent Iluminar could provide our libraries with a presence that was both intuitive for our patrons and also offered a high-level of customization options at the individual library level," said Krista Ross, director of the Southwest Wisconsin Library System. "We were also impressed with AGent VERSO's data mining capabilities, and our staff didn't need to know complex programming languages in order to quickly develop custom reports. The team at Auto-Graphics was very open and responsive to our requests, and we felt that Auto-Graphics would be a forward-thinking, proactive partner for our library automation needs."
SWLS selected the Software as a Service (SaaS) hosted delivery method, which provides full system support and maintenance, allowing SWLS to focus on expanding patron services without the additional cost and complexity of addressing technical support issues. These libraries will also benefit from AGent Iluminar, Auto-Graphics' user interface, which provides intuitive navigation using innovative web cues that patrons have come to expect in a next generation web interface.
Libraries within the SWLS consortium will be implementing a range of features available from Auto-Graphics, including the EDI X.12-compliant acquisitions module to provide efficient order management, the serials module for effective subscription collection management and the AGent Search federated search module to streamline and improve search capabilities. In addition, the libraries will implement the NCIP-compliant Circulation Interlibrary Loan Link (CILL) module to dramatically reduce the steps required to both borrow and lend items. CILL will marry the borrowing and lending functionality between SWLS's interlibrary loan (ILL) system, WISCAT - powered by Auto-Graphics' AGent Resource Sharing - and AGent VERSO to streamline workflow for library staff and empower patrons to initiate and track their own ILL transactions.
"We are looking forward to working with the team at SWLS to increase patron services and to free up staff so that they are spending less time managing their ILS software and more time meeting patron needs," commented Albert Flores, vice president of sales and marketing at Auto-Graphics. "The addition of SWLS to the AGent VERSO family is part of a growing trend of large, complex public library consortiums turning to Auto-Graphics as their replacement ILS system of choice."
