(Civica) Following a procurement exercise carried out by Tayside Procurement Consortium on behalf of the Scottish Consortium of Public Libraries consisting of, Angus, Perth & Kinross, Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and North Ayrshire councils as well as High Life Highland, the consortium has awarded a contract worth £1.5 million for a new library management system to Civica, a market leader in software, technology and business process services. The company’s market-leading ‘Spydus’ software will help the consortium members to improve services and reduce costs. ScoPL will be joined by existing Civica Scottish customers Argyll and Bute Council, Inverclyde Council, Leisure and Culture Dundee and South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture. The 10 services collectively serve over 62% of Scottish citizens.

(Civica) Civica is pleased to announce the release of our Event Management system, a fully featured web-based event management solution featuring integration with the Spydus integrated library management system. The first release of Event Management contains key functions in planning and executing library events, including online registration and payment, progress tracking and reporting, event marketing, and post-event feedback. In addition, Event Management interfaces with the Spydus membership database, and for non-library members gives them the opportunity to sign up as part of the event registration process.

(Civica) Civica announced that Hornsby Shire Council in New South Wales has chosen the Spydus10 web based integrated library management system, to be hosted in Civica’s Sydney data centre. Spydus10, released this month, is Civica’s complete web based system comprising library management, discovery, digital asset management and archival functionality. In addition to the Spydus10 core system, Hornsby Shire Council has chosen Civica’s new Event Management solution to integrate with Spydus10.
