Emeryville, CA. Innovative announced today that Polaris Leap is in beta release, with general availability on track for October. Polaris Leap is the web client for Polaris ILS that performs public services workflows, such as registering new patrons and checking out items. Its responsive design allows Polaris Leap to work on devices such as tablets and laptops, enabling library staff to serve their patrons anywhere - even outside library walls.
Baltimore County Public Library (MD) and Central Library Consortium (OH) will provide beta testing and feedback. Additional libraries will provide feedback as part of an Early Tester program beginning in two to three weeks. In October, Polaris Leap will be officially launched into general release. More than 70 libraries have already committed to Polaris Leap.
"We are excited that our beta testers can begin using Polaris Leap this week," says Bill Schickling, Innovative's Vice President of Public Library Products. "Implementing beta and Early Tester programs ensures that the product will function in a real-world setting and allows us to incorporate feedback from users into the general release."
